D’apr\u00e8s cette \u00e9tude de 2011, les Etatsuniens pensent qu’ils sont ma\u00eetres de leur destin, sont attach\u00e9s \u00e0 plus de libert\u00e9, moins de soutien des d\u00e9munis, mais restent tr\u00e8s croyants. Face \u00e0 eux, les Europ\u00e9ens occidentaux pr\u00e9f\u00e8rent prendre soin des moins bien lotis, se pensent moins libres de leur destin, et donnent moins de poids au religieux.<\/span><\/div>\n

L’Europe Centrale et Orientale n’ont pas \u00e9t\u00e9 sond\u00e9es… ce qui donnerait des r\u00e9sultats bien diff\u00e9rents, j’en suis convaincue.<\/p>\n

En Europe occidentale, la diff\u00e9rence est flagrante entre les dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s de l’enseignement sup\u00e9rieur et les non-dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s, une observation inqui\u00e9tante pour l’unit\u00e9 sociale des pays. Ce delta semble ne pas exister aux Etats-Unis:<\/p>\n

In Western Europe, those with a college degree are more likely than those with less education to say their country should have UN approval before using military force, although majorities across both groups share this view. (…)\u00a0This is not the case in the U.S., where respondents across education groups offer nearly identical views.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

On peut n\u00e9anmoins noter une \u00e9volution dans la perception des Etatsuniens:<\/p>\n

These differences between Americans and Western Europeans echo findings from previous surveys conducted by the Pew Research Center. However, the current polling shows the American public is coming closer to Europeans in not seeing their culture as superior to that of other nations. Today, only about half of Americans believe their culture is superior to others, compared with six-in-ten in 2002. And the polling finds younger Americans less apt than their elders to hold American exceptionalist attitudes.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
